clyde tolson (sp?) and j edgar hoover, both top FBI people were the guys who were allegedly gay, living together (for real). hoover was top cop, so to speak, and tolson was his second in command. big secret (not!) that they bunked together, took trips together and just about everything else. i dunno know the actors who portrayed them but bet your last penny that this movie or any of its ilk couldn't have been made while all parties were alive (even though its factually accurate).
