Should you rent "The Omega Man" with Charleton Heston before you see t!
Question: I am Legend is not exactly a remake of Omega Man.. they are both based on the same book.. but neither is a one hundred percent copy OF the book.. (I loved the book) So, no, it's not necessary.. I would recommend reading the book however, then maybe you will see more of the differences.

i had to watch omega man in class and i hated it so much and it was so boring i fell asleep. charleton heston is soooooooooo annoying. never watch it! its torture!
Naw.......I was a kid when I first saw Omega Man and man was I scared at the whole concept of last man on earth and that human-like creatures come out at night.....if I watched it now...it would seem hokey.......I don't believe Omega Man goes into details on how it happened and it does not have the flashbacks of the virus infecting people that Legend will show.....I saw the 14 minute preview on HBO last night....

the original movie " The Last man on the earth" with Vincent Price is the real good one. You can find it in emol.org, with the time at which the movie came in mind, the movie is too good. Watch it before i am legend and you may find i am legend and omega man Dull
You don't HAVE to but I did. And it's so bad and cheesy it will make you laugh.
