? What was your favorite Jimmy Stewart movie? Why?!

Question: "It's A Wonderful Life" because it's a movie that keeps giving.

Answers: "It's A Wonderful Life" because it's a movie that keeps giving.

It was "It's A Wonderful Life".

Stewart, I believe, accurately depicts what a man would do in George Bailey's situation.

"It's A Wonderful Life"
"Vertigo"

"Mr. Smith Goes To Washington". Corny by today's standards, but a truly heart-felt performance by the main actors.

Rear Window. One of Hitchcock's and Stewart's best thrillers.

The Philadelphia Story (1940); it has an great screenplay : the movie doesn't even seem adapted from a play ( the very first scene is a classic) and the dialogue is funny and clever; the performances are excellent; in my opinion George Cukor never directed a better movie.

Harvey. Stewart played the gentle Elwood P. Dowd to perfection. It's such a feel-good movie, too. I watched it again just last week, and loved it.

When impressionists imitated Jimmy Stewart, they always used the voice and mannerisms he used in Harvey.

It you haven't seen it. Do.

I'd have to say 'The Philadelphia Story', 'Rear Window' and 'Harvey' - hard to pick just one of them. 'Vertigo' is up there as well because I'm a huge Hitchcock fan.

IT'S A WONDERFUL LIFE!!! We watched that every Christmas Eve and drank hot chocolate when I was still at home and Dad was alive. Such wonderful memories.

Rear Window. One of my favorite Hitchcock movies and Jimmy Stewart was such a perfect choice for L.B. Jeffries. He was so amusing and his relationship with Grace Kelly (Lisa Fremont) was very believable.

Of course there were many other terrific ones. Mr. Smith Goes to Washington is a classic. Harvey is such a fun movie. The Glenn Miller Story. Anatomy of a Murder. It's a Wonderful Life. All show his versatility. One of the most believable actors ever in any role.

Shenadoah.

Just love this movie.
