The Omega Man is very similar to both 28 days later and I Am Legend.
The Omega Man was also based on a plague that wiped out most of humankind, and it was up to one doctor to find a cure for it. I Am Legend, however, (the book, anyway) made it that the infected people formed an intelligent society that viewed the main character as a monster because he was not immune to sunlight and could kill the sleeping "vampire-people" while they slept during the day. Omega Man was much of the same, with the infected people believing that science was evil, and the main character representing the evil left over from the modern world. In Omega Man, though, there are clear human survivors, but in I Am Legend, the "semi-immune" human survivors appear no different than the "vampires." Both end with the main character dying, being "EXECUTED" because they are viewed as a threat to the new society.
