Who's seen 'The Namesake'?!

Question: it's sooooo good! it's the story of my life-i know that's the point of it...wow...kal penn is soo good! no wonder the only successful indian actors in hollywood are guju.

if you've seen it, does it relate to you, in anyway?
also, state if you immigrated here, or you're a 1st generation-er, like myself.

*update* Wow...what a brilliant movie. I absolutely loved it and definitely cried like a baby at certain parts.

I did identify with one of the characters. That would be Maxine. My last boyfriend was a first generation Indian and we were very much in love. But because of cultural differences he broke up with me so when Maxine was bawling when she came down the stairs at Gogol's house it made me cry so hard :( I was like aww that was like me.

I'm watching it tmr, will let you know then :)

It didn't really work for me, but that's probably because I couldn't identify with it. The performances were good, and I can certainly see where some people would love it. It just wasn't my cup of tea.
