Question: no it was becuase the director wanted us to feel exactly like how lenny felt. when something happened to lenny, we didnt know what happened before. so it was to show how he struggles with remembering or knowing what had previuosly happened and who he could trust.

i think it was told backwards because you never knew who was truly good or bad. like that one chick from matrix (can't remember her name), you thought she was good so going back in time, you see she wasn't.
