Question: Finally the news came out today that he will Exec Produce the films. Yes films. They will film two at once.

I can't wait to see these. I love LOTRs. Only thing is I'll be 30 when they come out. That's a little depressing.

LOL!!!! My husband was just telling me about it when I saw your thing.. He read it on Foxnews.com!!!!!!!!!!!! He should have made it when he did the others so that people who don't know about Tolkein and his incredible books would get the whole story!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! All I can say is its ABOUT FREAKIN TIME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

yay i am excited to lotr are my all time fave movies

Can't wait. Hadn't heard that news before now. If LOTR anything to go by these should be ace. Wouldn't worry mate, I am 30 next year so feel your pain!!

He's just producing... I care more about the directing. If Raimi does sign on to direct, I would actually be hyped up for them.

Where is your source. I don't want to say I don't believe you, but I follow 3 or 4 movie sites and none of them have anything related to Jackson being back on board. Currently Jackson, Spielberg and Serkis are all working on Tintin.

Edit:

I stand corrected. I just say the article on msnbc.com. Sounds all right. Raimi has already dropped out of Spidey 4, so it looks good for him to be on board. Though I was looking forward to him revisiting the Evil Dead series.

Very cool and exciting....but stop bitchin about 30. I just turned 40! You're 30's are really pretty cool.

HOO-freakin'-RAH!!! Too bad he's not directing, but Peter Jackson did an outstanding job of bringing LOTR to the big screen. Some don't like the fact that he cut out parts of the story, but I think he cut out parts that really didn't help advance the story at all (like Tom Bombadil -- no great loss there). I'm usually one of those people who say "the book is better than the movie," but in the case of LOTR I'd have to say the movies were as good as the books.

I'm not excited because it won't be Peter Jackson directing. He'll have very little creative control over the films, which I also think are being split into two just to make more money. The Hobbit story can easily be told in one 2-3 hour movie (the cartoon version is only 45 minutes).

just read about that. I am happy that he is involved with the movies. They might actually be worth watching now.

Yes i am excited about THE HOBBIT. but i don't understand why Peter Jackson doesn't want to direct. he did a fantastic job with the LOTR Trilogy, why does he want to only produce??? Sam Raimi wants to take director's chair?? i say they tell him to back off and Jackson to step up on his throne. He belongs in the directors chair and everyone knows that. We don't want to risk any other director to mess up the movie's reputation. I say they don't make it at all if Sam Raimi is going to direct it. Tell him to stay on his Spidey territory.
