I Am Legend is flawed?!

Question: 1. A grenade takes a few seconds to explode, why not sit in the latched safe hole, wait for them to break through the glass, release the grenade, close the latch.

2. If the safe hole can protect against the force of a grenade blast why not just climb in there and wait it out? The zombie creatures only weapon appears to be their thick skulls. If a grenade blast can't break through the safe hole how could their skulls?

3. I don't like movies where the "hero" dies even if it's for the greater good. The hero should live so he can bask in the glow of heroism and give us all hope that it pays to be a hero. The lesson learned in this movie is that if you want to be a hero you have to die. I don't want to die....not yet anyway.

I actually enjoyed the movie I agree there were flaws but I thought the acting job by Will was awsome.

First thing there was room for Neville to go into the safe place because the lady says "there's room in here for you" and also I think it was necessary for him to die because he starts to believe why God sent her here.

She mentions earlier that there's a reason I heard your broadcast, and at the end he realizes that she and all the survivors are his legacy, and that by him taking his life for something he feels passionate about makes sense. Wills character mentions that this is "ground zero my site" he is committed to leaving his legacy their.

I thought it was a bold move for him dying in a movie this big, its different rather than seeing the hero live and bask in his glory. Obviosly it worked 76 mill in a weekend impressive. This is how I thought things went down in the movie.

Those were the only flaws that you saw? Did you just catch the last 10 minutes or something? There were a lot of flaws in that movie. Could have been a lot better.

BTW Allesandra the book is called "I Am Legend" as well. I was told it was a lot better than the movie, I just ordered it online becuase I felt robbed by the movie.

its just a movie. don't think too much about it.

well basically the only reason why he decided to kill himself in the process if because he didn't believe there's such thing as safe place...what he believed was that the entire human being ( other than the two, ethan and anna ) were gone. And also that movie is based on a book/novel ( dunno the title ) and maybe they just want to stick with what the ending in the book was. Other than that it was still a good movie, it wasn't Will Smith's best, but it'll do =)

I thought that Will's character should have been more aggressive in hunting and killing the mutants.

Have you ever thought about the fact that the hole might not have been large enough to hold all three of them? Maybe the hole was just big enough to hold the other two?

I believe the lab was in the basement (I could be wrong.) They couldn't have just "waited it out" because there is no night in the basement, other than the artificial light bulb lights, (which they could have easily smashed), then they could have waited there as long as it took.

I think that sometimes the hero dying is a necessity, sometimes you can't have your cake and eat it to (sorry for the cliche quote, but it's true) Sometimes you can't save someone else and still survive yourself.

what a dork.... lol

he did wait a few seconds and then he charged them

or did you not actually watch the movie.

I could have sworn the basement lab was equipped with ultraviolet lights, which could burn the zombies. I was expecting him to simply turn on the lights, not run and hide.

Too much atomosphere, too many plot holes, too many gimmicks (meaningless loud noises, mini-flashbacks). Looked good, but not all that much happened. Like in the Batman movies where they introduce super toys like the Bat Boat and then lose them in minutes.

ook first of all they were not zombies they were some kind of dark seeking vampires......

grenades have a little switch on them so when you pull the keyy and hold the switch it doesnt blow up right away

in the the movie they said he could very well fit in there with him but he wanted to die for the cure

he did not believe that there was a place with survivors he could hardly believe that there was Anna and Ethan

the movie was very similar to the book

in the book the vampires could talk and anna was a vampire and did not want him there he wanted him to go away

LOL...I HAVENT SEEN THE MOVIE YET...THANKS FOR RUINING IT FOR ME...

Movies are made to get certain reactions out of people, It's not flawed. If what you are describing in # 3 is true, about basking in the glory, wouldn't that make the hero an egotist and not acually a hero. I also agree with a previous comment, it's just a movie.

probley
