I like Harry Potter but the books are 1000 times better than the films...!!So i vote Star Wars which is just AWESOME!

Really they are both so different. Honestly I love both but if you are going for the movie go for star wars but if you decide to get the books go with harry potter. The harry potter films are not as good as the books. But agian they are very differnt so it depends on what you are into. So I say go with Star Wars!

It would have to be Star Wars I suppose. I love the Harry Potter books and the first two films were great, but subsequent films were a disappointment because they did not focus on the most important parts of the book, especially in Order of the Phoenix.

Harry Potter. In genre fiction, the plot should depend on the setting. Harry Potter could not be told in a science fiction setting, but Star Wars is sword and sorcery with spaceships. Therefore, Harry Potter is better. I've seriously disliked Star Wars ever since it came out in 1977 when i was ten for this reason, but it was a bit weird seeing films that wouldn't be made for over twenty years, particularly the Deathly Hallows, speaking of which did you like that bit with the - uh-oh, paradox alert.

Star wars!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! TRUST ME!!!

Star Wars of course.

depends on which triology of star wars, the original or the newer ones.

star wars is much better film
but of course harry potter the books are SO much better than the harry potter films

that's cruel chiefs!!

there are more people who love to Harry Potter much more than Star wars...

If you want to go by the films it's got to be Star Wars ... You can almost figure out what's going on by just watching the SW movies ... Harry Potter movies, if you haven't read the books and are just a casual fan you're gonna be sayin' "What the ...", "Who the ...", "How the hell did that happen ...", "Who killed who ..." etc, etc. Yes, you will have that in SW too but with the SW movies you'll get the answer eventually ... if it's about Harry Potter I go to my gf's mother and ask her because she's as "rabid" about Harry Potter as I am about SW. {Don't tell anyone that that's the only time I can stand to hear her talk ... lol ...}

You actually have a pretty big problem comparing the two. They both fall under the title of "fiction" but that's about all they have in common. SW is unique in many ways but the biggest is that it has created its own little "niche" in the Fiction catagory called "Space Opera" ... Off hand I can't think of any other movies that could fall under this catagory ... there probably are but at 1:22AM not too many come to mind ... lol ...

Another thing ... many people here have said that the books are much better than the movies for Harry Potter ... I would have to agree with that because if you really want to understand all that is going on you have to see the movie and read the book. I will be the first to admit that the books for the movies of SW are a little "lacking" ... the book version of ANH & the book version of ROTJ are overflowing with "errors" ... the book version of TESB also has one very big plot hole in it when it comes to the conversation between Vader & Palpatine about 1/3 of the way through the movie. The book version of Revenge Of The Sith on the other hand is almost "must" read if you want to catch all of the things going on in this story. Matt Stover "hit one out of the park" with his version of the movie.

Just my demented thoughts on the subject ...

If you are 13, 14 years old go for "Harry Potter". If you are grown up go for "Star Wars".
