GrindHouse Movies?!
Question: I have yet to see any of the grind house movies. I hear alot of good and bad. Most of the good was the fake movie previews in between so that kind of scared me away.
Is it worth buying on dvd? And will it still have the fake movie previews. I hear they are sold seperately. Which is better death proof or planet terror and are these movies interesting or are they kinda dumb...I went to see sin city with my girlfriend and she looked at me and i looked at her halfway thru and we walked out of it...lol. I like kill bill and dusk til dawn and all those just couldnt make myself like sin city sorry alot of ppl liked it..

I saw GrindHouse in theatres and enjoyed the movie for the most part. But be warned, if you aren't a film buff you may not appreciate these movies. They are pretty funny and have typical horror movie cliches. I am not a Tarintino fan myself, well I like him, but like his fanboys do.
I liked planet terror more than death proof. Planet Terror is funnier and has a better story. But the stunts are really cool in Death Proof. Planet Terror has better actors. I can't believe you didn't like Sin City though, it was so sweet. I'm thinking you walked out mostly because of your girlfriend. It is a very manly movie though.
I wouldn't recommend buying it on DVD. It is a movie where you either like it or you don't. Try to rent it first.
But like I said if you are a film buff you for sure enjoy this movie. The chances of you liking this otherwise are considerably less. Hope this helped.
Death Proof was ...goofy. I laughed through most of it. It was DEFF> Tarantino - meaning it had about 45 min of stupid boring dialog, ten minutes of action, and another 45 min of dumb dialog, then ten more minutes of action. The action sequences were good tho.
Planet Terror was pretty stupid too....really old school and campy. I mean, a machine gun for a leg?
All in all, they were ok *(I hated Sin City as well - it was misogynistic and gratuitous). I'd rent them rather than buy them tho.
They were maybe 3 stars out of 5 flicks. Seriously, I LMAO. The death at the end of DP was funny, and was really good vindication for the ones at the beginning.
And yes, the fake movies and the old style effects are in the dvds, and yes, they are sold separately.
I saw Planet Death, and I'd say it was at least interesting. Too over-the-top, but a fun watch. I'd say interesting but kinda dumb. I managed to stick it through the whole thing.
