Why do you think the young female is almost always the sole survivor in horror f!

Question: I've always wondered why.

Answers: I've always wondered why.

I've actually seen whole articles devoted to the "last girl" as they are called.

The leading theory is that since the audience is mostly male, they want to see an attractive woman as much as possible. This is why Danny DeVito will never be the last person alive in a slasher film. Though that WOULD be hilarious...

So she's in more of the scenes, duh!

Because she's hotter than the guys.

She's the one that looks best in little or now clothing.

Damsell in distress or the heroin, save her not the dude. P P Please

hehe, very good question. It's probably because the audience (male and female) age demographic for horror films is more likely to develop a relationship and sympathize with a young female character. Also, subconsciously, the movie makers are probably relying on the stereotype that youth and females in particular are stressful, and unable to cope with dangerous situations. This makes the viewer worry about the character, thinking they're ready to be monster food any minute.

the same reason why she's always way hotter than her Murdered girlfriends. Also, I think people have been fed up with the male playing the heroe role and saving the day movies . Either way it works for me, i wouldn't mind being saved by Elisha Cuthbert.

Becasue people love to see it.

Either young females are more clever and canny than the town sheriff, the gardener, the paperboy, and everyone else in town or she's the big box office draw and the highest paid person in the cast.

Because they kick butt!
