Watching same movies over and over....?!

Question: My husband will get on a kick with one movie and watch it over and over for several weeks (like every night) especially when he cannot sleep... then he moves on to another one for a few weeks.
I tell him this doesn't seem normal, but then again, I rarely like to watch a movie more than once.

What do you think?

Yea - I think he is a little OCD - I do that with music and it drives my husband crazy. I don't know what to tell you. Is it normal? probably not - but you love him anyways, right? If that is his only major quirk you are lucky. He could be at the bars or out when he can't sleep so at least he is at home.

seems a little unusual to me.

Maybe he is just engrossed in the story, like when a good book is coming to an end, you have been living it.

Actually, I watch movies I really like over and over as well. If the movie is really good, you get a new level of understanding every time.
- First, you get the general feeling of it.
- Then you realize what makes the story and characters so good.
- Then comes the acting level. That's always interesting.
- And then you appreciate how well the film is made (camera angles, lighting...)
...

I know some people like him, and they usually do so because there is something that really interests them in a particular movie. Either there is something so profoundly entertaining about the movie that helps them kind of "tune out" from the real world, they find it relating to their life in some form or another, or they just genuinely like it to the point where they want to remember every scene. Either case, I feel it's unhealthy for them, so I try to pry them out of this rut and get them to go out and do something else. There are so many things to see and experience outside of just watching a movie at home.... Good luck :)
