How Does Sam Witwicky Defeat Megatron in Transformers?!
Question: After seeing that film twice, I still don't understand how he defeated Megatron with The Cube. I mean, why couldn't he have used that blazing power when he was cornered at the top of the building?

The cubes power is too great for anyone to try to harness. By Optimus Prime willing to sacrifice himself by placing the cube in his chest, he knew he would basically melt and be destroyed. Sam didn't really know what exactly the cube would do so instead of losing a good guy/robot, he decides to kill the bad guy/robot.
Timing I guess, they wanted it to be at the last minute. The idea of Shia LaBeouf defeating Megatron is both laughable and nasueting.
