Questions about Sweeney Todd!?!

Question: I want to see Sweeney Todd, cause I love Johnny Depp and HBC, same with my mum. But we both can't stomach too much gore, so like, how realistic is everything? I'm 13 btw.

Sounds like no more blood and gore then a typical week night on regular Television..... By the way, Johnny Depp actually SINGS himself in this movie...I knew the plot because I saw the Broadway show starting Angela Lansberry----and I am VERY MUCH looking forward to seeing this movie adaptation.... if you GO, just remember it's all FAKE BLOOD regardless of how real it might LOOK....... if you could get through the movies "A NIGHTMARE ON ELM STREET" and any of those Halloween type movies, you will be OK at this movie..... just remember it's ALL FAKE!!

It's very bloody, and I mean VERY bloody. During the murder scenes, blood sprays everywhere, splattering the camera lens at one time. Sweeney is drenched a couple times. Throats are slit aplenty, most of the time in plain view of the audience.

And I'm not going to give the ending away, but it's bloody enough to make the rest of the movie look light.

Basically, anybody with a 50 gallon container of fake blood and a video camera could make this sort of graphic violence. It's pretty "realistic" as you call it, considering what the film is about.

It's not that gory though, just really bloody.

Oh i really want to see that too, but I think it could probably do without Johnny Depp. You know it's a musical right? That's the reason I want to see it. I'm going to assume there is some gore, but not a ton of it.

i'm 13 too, and i saw the movie yesterday. it's REALLY good.
there are many gory parts, but most ppl said it's not much compared to the SAW movies (idk for myself cuz i never saw the SAW movies)

most of the "gore" is lots of throat-slashing with blood spitting out and cannibalism.

since i get scared easily, i covered my eyes during those parts.

I fell asleep throughout the whole movie that has got to be most boring films I have every seen.

At least a dozen throats are slit throughout the film, most in full view of the audience accompanied by graphic blood splatter. About 5 or 6 throats are slit in rapid succession during one particular song about 2/3 of the way through the film. One man has his head bashed in, another is stabbed repeatedly in the throat, and at least half a dozen corpses are shown falling down a chute and landing on their heads with a loud, wet, cracking/crunching sound on the cement basement floor.

You don't see any "guts" but you do see what appears to be a bit of brain matter spray out when the heads of a few corpses bust open. You also see blood skeletons stripped of flesh and a tub full of mostly indistinguishable "meat" but with a few obvious "human parts".

The blood is shockingly red in contrast to the dull gray of the rest of the film so that may take away from the "realism" of it, but the spurting and spraying and choking and gurgling may be a bit too much for the more squeemish viewers.
