Question: I know it's an old movie but it's one of my favorites. Something I've always wondered about -- who was Melvin? I mean, was he just some bratty teenage ORPHAN living by himself in the middle of the desert? Or did he live with someone?

I love that movie too. I had never thought about his parents, but after you asked your question I went looking. Basically there's one line where someone says his parents had gone to Vegas and they wish the parents would've taken Melvin with them. Thanks for asking, now we both learned something.
