Have you seen the movie Passion of Christ? What age would you limit viewing it?!

Question: Our church is showing it tonight and I was worried about our children. I haven't even seen it before because I was worried about myself, and I am not a child. There will be 4 year olds there and going all the way up. Did you like the movie? What did you think?

The movie is rated R for very good reason: prolonged sequences of blood, torture, and violence; and even then, I think it holds back a little compared to what really happened.

Four-year-olds should NOT be in attendance. I would say that kids seeing Passion should be at least thirteen, and even then apply your best judgement as a parent about whether they should see it.

EDIT - about the languages: It's mostly in Aramaic, with some Hebrew (I think) and Latin, with English subtitles.

OH its so not right for a 4 yr old to see. Its pretty rough and bloody to watch plus it has sub-titles. So they won't know what they're saying and like I said its pretty bloody.

But for an adult its a wonderful movie.

Its rated R for sequences of graphic violence.

Try commonsense.com its a parenting website that gives info on what is age appropriate for children to watch.

I would say about thirteen.

Do Not let anyone under 16 see this movie. it is not for young viewers.

no, no, no to 4 year olds watching it! the youngest I would say would be 12 year olds. I liked the movie, it stuck to the Bible pretty much. Its rated R I think though.

you have to read it on the bottom of the screen...but its actually not annoying.

its rated r for violence. but i saw it when i was 10

the language spoken is Aramaic -- the same language spoken by Jesus. It is subtitled in English so you will need to read it. At one time Gibson wanted to leave the subtitles off since the story is known and you don't really need to understand them to get the story.

It is a very brutal film. It graphically depicts the crucifixion. I would not recommend it for anyone under their teen years -- and then it would depend on the maturity level of the child.

4 year olds should NOT watch this movie. It is a very gory movie and has violence so little kids shouldn't see this. Didn't really like it cos all you see is Jesus getting tortured and then dying.
