So you can see the actors face and what is going on in the vehicle.

hmmm

Maybe because the cameramen don't want you to see them.

mine always falls off, I keep a constant supply of superglue in the glove compartment when that happens

Good catch. I'll be watching.
Don't know the answer

hmm....thats crazy, im gonna have to start watchin for this. Maybe its due to reflections? dunno man but good point

Good question...that's where they place their camera for getting face shots of the actors while driving.

camera angles and mirror images

To stop the actors looking at themselves

Hey! You're not supposed to notice that! You're only supposed to notice the actor/actress that's being filmed. :)

cuz the director doesnt want the watchers to see the camramen

They don't want the viewer to see the camera crew or set from the mirror in the rear and they remove the mirror to get an unobstructed view if the drivers seat. In the old days, they removed the wind shield to prevent glare.

so they can have a camera there or have room for a camera

got me there! have you got a compulsive disorder? (mines ,reading number plates as runescript..)...joke! and 4 the new year dude...x

Because ALL actors are thieves.

And they steal the hubcaps.

Brad Pitt has a collection of over 2 million mirrors, 22 million hubcaps, 200,000 ash trays, 17,000 car jacks and 21,000 spare tyres.

gets in the way of the camera`s my dear` must see the high paid actors, it is legal as they are allways shot "offroad"."

Probably because in most cases there is no actual windshield. Whenever a car is used in a movie or TV camera shot indoors within a sound stage the numerous bright lights bounce off the windshield glass. The numerous reflections of bright light would make it too noticable that it was being filmed indoors. Notice a lot of time in some of the older TV shows like THE BEVERLY HILLBILLIES. Most of the cars that drive up in front of the mansion have had their windshields removed, car windows are usually down and they used convertibles with the top down very often.

i never notices that!!! lol its a really good question tho...probably because the camera would be reflected on the mirrors. ;)

I never noticed that, but now that you say it, I can visualize it. And you're right. Good catch dude.

so you don't see the camera filming from the back. or b/c it's in the way...or b/c they are special cars that don't really drive they are being pushed or pulled.
