What movies do you think featured the most graphic rape scenes, and did you thin!

Question: ...Or necessary to the plot or progression of the story?

As an example from TV, I found the rape of Dr. Melfi scene on The Sopranos to be a little bit over the top compared to their portrayal of other violence.

Which movies have you seen that feature graphic rape scenes, and what did you think of them?

Pulp Fiction - Marcellis Wallace gets raped in pawn shop basement. It's incdredibly disturbing, I could hardly watch. I don't believe it was gratuitous, though, just part of the director's vision for the telling of his story.

Anything on film seems to glorify whatever is being shown, even if it is bad or wrong. Violence, suicide, war, rape, drugs, smoking...there is an old movie about a girl that gets raped and takes revenge on each of her rapists, I forget the name of the movie{figures!} but at least the deaths of the rapists were just as horrifically violent as the rape. Rape has no place in society, whether it be on film, audio, illustrated or in real life. I am a survivor and am always offended when rape is shown. If it is part of the story it would do better for all the viewers and the plot if it were inferred instead of spelled out. If a person gets their kicks from rape they need to be removed from society like child molesters!!!!!

Different strokes for different folks, I guess.

Some people can handle it, and others can't.

Personally, I don't mind gratuitous violence as long as there is a reason for it.

Transformers, for example, was just violent for no reason other then Mike Bay being a god awful director.

Die Hard 4 was violent, but totally entertaining. Ditto for Lord of The Rings.

i agree with inkgdds. rape scenes are just plain animal base instinct and movies that show them are exploiters and rapers of women themselves. the justification of having realism in films is just plain ****.

if realism is the justification then why are stuntmen ever used in films and why dont they really shoot the actors or kick them or box them and why do they have that end disclaimer ' no animals hurt in the making of the movie ' . but with women, they are practically raped on screen and its supposed to be artistic and realistic. *******

i don't know about rape but in mr. brooks there was a full frontal sex scene!
