What is up with dumb movies??!
Question: Why do we have such dumb movies made??? Like Jackass, Love Actually. Who on earth comes up with such retarded movies??? Heck, if Napolean Dynamite wasn't so funny due to it's stupidity...I'd throw that on the list...heck, why not. Napolean Dynamite too.

There are plenty of smart movies out there...they just may not get the media attention of some of the dumb ones. Dumb movies are made because dumb people are willing to spend money to see them. End of story.

i think all the good movie plots have been used up and sequals cannot ever compare to the great all time movies . no remakes cant improve on the original i guess
Napoleon Dynamite is the best movie ever made.
Dumb movies have always been coming out, in the 1930's and 40's studios would crank out 10 new films a week, but they were all low budget and boring. Every now and then a director would emerge with something extraordinary. If anything there are less bad movies coming out today, they just have bigger budgets.

Jackass, Borat (I seriously did not find the fact that a guy from the US dressed up as a foreign person coming to the US with no sense at all was funny. ), Kung Pow, Napol Dyno, and a few other are very stupid in my opinion because they dont have an ORIGINAL plot line.
We want to be surprised with twist and something new that isn't used over and over again. I think there are PLENTY of good books out there that SHOULD be made into movies but directors ruin the movies with their own fantaisies and the limits they have on how many hours a movie can be.
Its also hard to wow a crowd whose seen just about everything from horror, death, sex, angels, other realities, and so on.
Hopefully they make more movies on deeper meanings of things, plot twist, and something more intelligent then the regular stuff that gets announced by that commentator guy who does the "in a world..."

i think because the director and the writer were running out of ideas of some good jokes that they start to think something stupid.
The reason is actually your fault. You don't research movies before going to see them. Movies.yahoo.com gives you so much great things to see if the movie you are paying 10 bucks to see is worth it or not...Read reviews. There are so many movies being made that are smart, full of emotion, and art, but you are going to the ones that are in the news and media more because the average person would rather go to see a movie that would make them laugh than make them think.
Check out 'Atonement'...I bet you haven't seen a movie as good as this one in a long time.

Check critically acclaimed movies, do a little research about upcoming movies. Compare their storylines, their cast and you should have a good idea of what to expect.
