Zombie Law?!

Question: Is it just me, or does every serious zombie (Resident Evil and Shaun of the Dead don't count) have some unwritten law that you can't say "Zombie" in the movie. (Watch Dawn of the Dead and othes like it and you'll see what I mean)

George A. Romero (original creator of Night of the Living Dead, Dawn of the Dead, Day of the Dead, Land of the Dead, etc.) made it a distinct and purposeful characterisitic of his "zombie films" to never actually say the word "zombie" in them. And since he is the "godfather" of zombie films and every single one made after his were homages and as a direct result of the innovations, reinventions, and successes of his film, you are right in concluding that there is some unwritten law in the films that cant say "zombie" because Romero didnt do it, so they shouldnt do it either.
It makes the film slightly realistic (if that is even possible) because everyone knows that zombies do not exist, but if a film never firmly declares that they are zombies, then they notion that this could actually happen is still present, however miniscule of a chance.

you have a point they never acknowledge that they are zombies

the zombies will hear you obvs
pfft.

3Arab zombie movies are better :)

i actually heard in a DVD commentary, one of the people said zombie, and the other guy said "shh! you're not supposed to say zombie!" but i don't remember the name of the movie.
