It's her job to do it, whether she believes or not! She's doing what she is supposed to do. She knows the store expects a Santa who can meet the children, but the one she chose turned out to like liquor more than a seasonal job.

I don't like to discuss religions or politics. All I will say is that we don't exchange gifts, something we decided to do without at least 30 years ago. The holidays aren't so trying since we're not shopping, and we can use money for bills instead of ending up with more bills and needing credit cards to "help". When Christmas puts you in debt, you'd better rethink how you celebrate it, especially if you start complaining about what you "have" to do.

We set up a tree, and we have a nice meal that day, sometimes with four of us at the table.

Buying toys for the children is understandable, but people overdo there, too, so much so that the average child doesn't have a favorite toy. Gifts for the adults really do not make sense unless they are items people need. Why complicate the holiday so much?

Because the Macy's parade always has Santa at the end of it. She didn't put him there because of any personal preference.
