Of the 14 answers you've got so far none are all right and most are all wrong.

The two Wookies that Yoda says good-bye to are Tarful & Chewbacca ... they are not part of the same family. Tarful was basically the commander of all Wookie forces ... Chewie was one of his trusted generals. They were the only two wookies to have witnessed the clones attempt to kill Yoda. In that single act all their fears had come to life ... they knew that the Old Republic had betrayed them. That is the reason they help Yoda escape ... hoping he will be able to change things. Sadly it doesn't turn out that way for the Wookies.

The Wookie home world is Kashyyyk and there are millions of wookies that live there so the one answer that said they were all killed but Chewie is so wrong it's not even funny. Wookies were the "perfect" slave. They were very smart, very strong physically, and very good when working on starships and so on. There is a book from the Star Wars EU (Expanded Universe) that is set about a month after the events of ep 3 ... it is called "Dark Lord: The Rise of Darth Vader". In this book Vader and Imperial forces attack Kashyyyk because it is believed that they might be allowing some of the remaining Jedi to hide there. In truth there were a few there but not enough to justifiy the ruin that Vader and the Empire left on Kashyyyk. It was a incredible battle and more than 1/4 of the vast forests on Kashyyyk were reduced to ashes and tens of thousands of wookie's were captured and forced into slave labor ... most of them working on the first Death Star. Tarful is said to have died in this battle but I haven't had the time to check it at starwars.com so that's a maybe for him. Chewie escaped Kashyyyk with the Jedi when they escaped and vowed to fight against the Empire until the day he died.

Chewie and Han met about 10 years after the events of ep 3. Han had just graduated from the Imperial Naval academy on Cardia. Han had lost his parents at a young age and bounced around youth homes until he ended up working in a "carny" of sorts. There was a female wookie who also worked with the "carny" ... she and Han were close ... not quite "mother/son" but more than best friends so had a "soft-spot" for the "big furry oafs" ... lol ... Anyways, at the time they meet Chewie had been caught and was being used as a slave on Cardia. Han ran into Chewie and his "handler" on a day that Chewie was being more stubborn than usual and had so angered the "handler" that he was beating Chewie with a laser whip and it was clear that he wasn't going to stop until Chewie was dead. Han stepped into the fray and ended up killing the handler. This ruined his career as a naval officer and set Chewie free. Chewie knew that Han had saved his life and swore a Wookie Life Debt to Han ... basically a you saved my life so I'm gonna hang around long enough to save yours kind of thing. Han tried anything he could to get Chewie to go free but in the end he gave in and he and Chewie went on to be two of the most famous pilots the galaxy had ever seen.

Sorry about the ramble ... hope you can find an answer in there somewhere.

May The Force Be With You

idk my friend

becauses hes not important enough...

the writers didn't put him in lol

Wookies become very rare after that. They are basically killed or kept as slaves, but Han Solo rescued Chewie and so Chewie swore a Wookie Life-Debt to him.

The other one's name is Spitty. Spitty and Chewie worked at a McDonalds for a while and then Chewie learned how to fly while Spitty just stayed at McDonalds

They become the forest. J/K, I don't know either.

l believe that either he dies OR goes into hiding like Yoda.

I'm gona hate myself for knowing this, but I think they both remained on errr their planet (yes I don't know that) untill Han Solo had to rescue Chewbaca and Chewy has to serve him for some reason. Look on Wiki or Wookipedia.

MAny of the Wookies meet their demise that day and are spread across the galaxy. BEcause of their great battle abilities they are thought to be a threat to the empire. A few decades pass before the 4-6 episodes and it is likely that in that time many have died.

well im not sure but i no star wars creators figured that chewie was a very famous wookie and chewie leaves the wookie planet with han solo later

they were all killed except chewe

Chubaka is just the star, wookies are a race or breed. They are mentioned in some Star Wars books. They only show a lot of charters once.

Well Id have to say that chewbaca was one of the leaders of the wookie army or legion and that he was probably one of the most important wookies in the films and another reason is that george lucas (the creator of starwars) just thought it would be better to have one wookie (chewie) as a powerful sidekick to han, luke, and princess lea.

I hope this answer helps!

When the Empire takes over the galaxy they are very prejudiced against any race that doesn't look human. The Wookies, being alien creatures and strong allies of the Old Republic, were enslaved because they are good strong workers that the empire could make use of. Any who resisted were killed. Only a precious few escaped from the Empire. If you were to watch the original Star Wars Trilogy you might notice that, except for the bounty hunters that Darth Vader hires, their are no alien races working for the empire.
