Not better quality just an extra disc with special features, like:
Alternate Director's Cut version
Deleted Scenes
Blooper Reel
Documentary on the making of the film or TV show
Interviews with the filmmakers, actors, and crew
Production photos and sketches
Screenplay available to view while you're watching the show
it depends what exactly your talking about but Collectors editions usually just have more stuff like interviws deleted sceans things like that
Well widescreen edition is just one disc with only some features (or no features at all) then they put out a Two-disc collector's edition with a bonus disc with extras or more. Sometimes they re-release their products like Zodiac came out July 2007 and the 2-disc director's cut comes out Tuesday. Oh and they sometimes come in limited packaging and get priced around for $22.99.
The film quality is the same. The collectors editions contain behind the scenes features that the others don't. That's the only difference.
