Can anyone name a Boxing Movie that doesn't have a training montage sequence!
Question: I've just been watching "Cinderella Man" and it seems to be a staple in every boxing movie!" I could hear the Parker and Stone song ringing in my ears! "Even Rocky had a montage!"

Some of these might be montage-free:
Champion
Requiem for a Heavyweight
The Great White Hope
Diggstown
Fat City
The Set-Up
The Harder They Fall (1956)
Flesh & Fury
City for Conquest
The Square Jungle
I haven't seen these for a long time, but they definitely precede the "Rocky" montage-type scenes.
thats the best bit man
i don't think there is one in Cinderella Man, but that is more about the great depression, boxing second.
I dont remember there being a training montage in Raging Bull.
I don't remember one in the movie Fighting Tommy Riley
There is "training".. but no montage..
"The Great White Hype"
You never said it had to be a serious boxing film. the movie is all sarcasm and no substance.
Also "Play It to the Bone" with Woody Harrelson .
There is hardly any boxing in that obviously boxing movie. No montages at all.
Yes all the Rocky movies.
Edit: Sorry Woody B but that's all the Boxing Movies i know.
I haven't seen Cinderella Man or Raging Bull to know if there is a training montage in them.
The training montages in Rocky are awesome, the music, editing, everything, always gives me goosebumps!
