Question: I always see people on IMDB who`ve seen movies weeks in advance because they saw it at a film festival and just wondered how do you find out which movies are showing in advance? how do you find festivals showing near you? how much does it cost to attend one? and are normal people allowed to go or is it only for celebrities and stuff?

The average Joe can attend most film festivals. You can choose to buy various levels of passes which either include everything or a portion of the events. Many people opt to buy just the film passes and spend a week watching movies. Cost depends entirely on the festival. There are so many film festivals these days that there's sure to be one this year within driving distance of wherever it is you live.
