Any "Purab aur Paschim" fans here?!

Question: It's quite an oldie (qualifies as classic) just saw a DVD the other day on very fine print. I think the issues discussed in the movie are quite relevant even today -and it was such a wonderful experience for me to see it after many years. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0234542/

Some scenes are worth mentioning, relevant to Indians even today:
1. English-Hindi divide in a lecture hall leading to a full blown fight
2. When Bharat (Manoj Kumar) is mocked by Pran on the destituteness of Indian people "India ka contribution zero hai" and he breaks into the famous "Preet jahan ki reet sadaa song" -that's a real patriotic stuff
3. "Ram Dhun" Raghupathy Raghav Raja Ram sung by all Firangs. It was brilliantly shot even in those days comparison.
4. Saira Banu comments on BhagwadGeeta as a "novel"
5. "Twinkle Twinkle Little Star" -it's a really touching song with a whacky humour
6. Last scene -when Saira flushes cigarettes and whisky down the drainage. Real contrast PURAB aur PASCHIM

PURAB AUR PASCHIM is 1 of my favourite movie.
1 thing which i like abt it is that it shows how people migrate from India to other countries for money but at the end they find out that they had lost their culture and originality in the race.
even i like Namastey London for the same reason. it is a new version of PURAB AUR PASCHIM

yes i am

I have no idea what you're on about, but cheers!

Songs of this movie are very good
