Answers: im doing a debat that scary movies should be banned but i cant think of anything to write what do you people think

If you're having to debate this, I'm always good at coming up with arguments for any side of anything. Please note that I don't think they should be banned, and I love scary movies. But here are some things you could argue:

1) The plots of scary horror movies where people are slaughtered give mentally unstable people ideas on how to kill people, basically influencing them.

2) The visual images in gory horror movies are not only disturbing for young children, who will inevitably watch them, but can further disturb some people into nightmares and anxiety attacks, adding to irrational fears.

3) Scary movies about ghosts and such can spark contraversy over religious beliefs, and the imagery in these films can actually influence people to believe they see things that arent there.

4) Scary movies can be bad for people who have blood pressure problems or anxiety disorders, which can lead to serious medical conditions.

Well there you go, to get you started on some ideas. Good luck with your debate.

Uh no they should not be banned

Only if they ban Drama's, & Chick Flicks.

Everyone has their right to watch a style of movie they like. If you dont like scary movies - then dont watch them.

Why should anything be banned! we dont live in Iraq!
And I love scary movies!
Censorship is evil!!

No.

If some people don't like scary movies, they don't have to watch them.

They shouldn't ruin everybody's fun just for the sake of a few people who are too scared to watch them.

Hell, even porno's aren't even banned, what makes you think they'd ban horror movies?

hell no

If a person doesn't like scary movies, then they shouldnt watch them.....it would be really hard to ban them anyway b/c of the 1st amendment. (*freedom of speech*).....so...no, they shouldn't be banned.

Why exactly should they be banned? that doesnt make sense... people make a concious choice to see that movie when they pay thier $10 so if they don't like it then they dont have to see it.

Yes -- "Scary Movie 4" should definitely be banned....

A tough question to debate, because the other side has so much ammunition against you. If you have to take this side of the question, you could take the position that there's enough horror in the world without more of it being created by Hollywood.

No they shouldn't people aren't forced to watch them so why should they complain about others watching them?
I mean come on, some people love the movies. Some people hate RomComs but they do not say,
"Oh these movies do this to people who watch them! BAN THEM!"

Let people choose what they want. Free will is getting less and less free these days.

I understand. I had to debate that Social Security Disablity should be removed XD We don't get to pick these things.

Some points you could look into or consider:

*Heart Attacks [Physical Health and Pre Exsisting Health Problems] -- There have been advanced screenings I went to where they had to have people ready because there were Heart Attacks and other health problems brought about or exatarbated by certain films ( AKA People go to the Emergency Room some times because of a Movie)

*Exposer to Children of Violence, Death, and Language

*Any increase in Violence -- Especially look into Criminal Mimicing: This is that some people see Crimes, The News covering Crimes, or a Movie and immitate it.

*Desensitization of Death to the public-- This means when someone sees alot of fake Death they do not handle things in reality the same way. This should also apply to violence with citations of events where people witnessed something they could have been of some help to such as an abduction or violent crime but they stood there and watched it actting as if they were not physically available.. much the atmosphere of a movie. Watch the ending (the last episodes) to Seinfield ( the TV Series).

*Mental Health -- Truma, Stress, Anxiety...

BTW,.. I passed and got an A+ with extra credit for spotting flaws in the material the team we were against provided XD

Absolutely no, scary movies are the best!

OK, let's keep this clinical. You picked a good subject for debate. On a personal level, scary movies are like rollercoasters. They take you somewhere, psychologically. Akin a rollercoaster, climbing that big climb, building fear and anticipation. In the last 30 years, roller coasters have become rocket science, in planning, and building. As good as they were 30 years ago, they're primative to today's standards. THEY, the old, rocked. Now, OOHHHnn, WOW, triple rock!! Same as the new breed of horror movies. I'm a collector of underground horror movies. Blood Sucking Freaks, Igor and the Lunatics. Stuff like that. Border's Books, DVD section. Perfectly legal. Makes Jason look like Disney. Bottom line. Humans need stuff like this. It's in our DNA. I only hope you can get something out of this. If scary movies are banned, we should then start to think about banning things at Disneyland, like Pirates of the Carrabean. If you dig for it, there's lot of connotations in that theme. Drinking, pilaging, etc. Give it some thought. Dennis B.

I'm an old time lover of the horror movies, all the way back to the original Frankenstein & Dracula. However, todays horror movies are taking on a new, overly graphic gore to them that ruins what ever little plot there may have been in the movie to begin with. Some of it's ok, but enough is enough. I just stop watching the ones that go to far out there!

does the ole scarry movies upset the wedil boy,why don't he change channel and maybe he can get some sweep tonite.and why don't u put a ban on your foot, see how much that gets u
