What is this horror movie? Mid 70s, early 80s, English maybe?!
Question: The details that follow are foggy at best so here's the plot, near as I can recall - A few friends, possible two couples, on a road trip come upon a small village at the end of a long brush covered, overgrown country road. Defying logic, as do most horrors, the visitors decide to stay, or maybe they had to stay due to car trouble. The townsfolk are weird and fidgety, something is definitely amiss. Possibly there is a large fountain in the middle of the village and the road that lead into the village is not easily found. Skip to the nasty bits, townsfolk turn into lunatics after dark and go about killing the visitors except for a man who then escapes. Running panicked through the brush and forest he eventually comes to the edge of the woods and flags down a police car. He anxiously recounts the tale to the officers as the car goes along, turning off the highway, eventually driving down the brush covered road that leads back to the village. Man realizes, panics and that's the end.

It sounds like a segment in the film "The Monster Club". The village is filled with ghouls. But, that can't be your film because there is one man, not several people.
I'll see if I can find anything, but the village setup sounds so much like "The Monster Club". Perhaps they used the concept for another type of movie.
