Answers: Friday the 13th - Jason is an icon of the 80's & unstoppable.
It's hard to pick just one, but all of these where great movie experiences for me.
Stephen King's The Shining- "Here's Johnny!"
Poltergeist- I'll never give my kid a stuffed clown because of this movie
The Exorcist- Still won't watch it alone in the dark
Pet Cemetary- One of the few that gave me nightmares
The Amityville Horror.
It's so bad that it's good: horror in suburbia.
Bobby
That doll is just plain creepy
80s - Fright Night
It was one of the first "scary" movies I ever saw, I used to watch it over and over again. I recently saw it on TV and it was so ridiculous! LOL.

I'm not sure when this one was made, but "The People Under the Stairs" is GREAT. Super cheesy... should have been billed as a comedy. Go watch it. Laugh.

"Black Christmas" - It was made in the late 70's and It will traumatize you for sure!

The Omen .. Creepier then anything when the Nanny hung herself.
1966 Plague of the zombies- Oh hammer films you did it again
74 Captain Kronos Vampire hunter - It is a sword fighting vampire slayer that could put blade to shame
1985 Return of the living dead- It just freakin rocked...MORE BRAINS!!!!!
The stories today are ok but horror got good in about 64 with spider baby ( I THINK I SHOULD HATE YOU)and ran strong through the late 80's with
Zombies, Vampires and slashers .
so many cult classics and great horrors I could name a hundred and would still wish I named just one more.
Original Halloween, as it favored honest, thrilling scares over mere gore
Halloween and Texas Chainsaw Massacre
