This is for mature people. Did you watch the movie about Pearl rbor tonight? Do !

Question: The movie is not over yet, but I can't forgive them for what they did to us. It was horrible! What's your thoughts? I also can't forgive the Germans for what they did to Christians. Don't know why we are friendly with them now. They will turn against us again.

i own the movie and still have not watched it because i don't know how i will feel about it. i can understand how people can have a hard time forgiving the japanese. my grandmother still has not forgiven them. wierd side note: my grandfather died in iwo jima on the day the war in europe ended and the japanese officially surrendured on the month & day i was born (not the year, i was born 27 years later).

what on earth did the germans do to the christians ?????

If you mean the Ben Affleck movie the only feeling it gave me was one of nausea as it was so terrible.

Sweetie, a word of advice, you need to brush up on your history before you make any more political comments. People are going to come down on you hard about the Christian/German comment...it was almost exclusively Jews they murdered en masse...many homosexuals, special needs and opposition movement people as well. A very small percentage were Christian.

The way you are coming across (intentionally or not) is that you are either ONLY upset over the relatively small number of Christians were killed and not the millions upon millions of others....or you think Jews are Christians....either way, it makes you look bad. I would be happy to give you some great reading material to get the facts to you if you would like me to...just let me know. You seem very caring and I think you deserve to know the truth about the history of the world.

The history of our world is bloody and sad...but if you keep hate and hardness in your heart towards the citizens of a country for what their government decreed they must do then you are in for a life filled with hate and hardness towards your fellow man and you don't want that in your heart, do you?

Ok - I guess I'm not as nice as "girl geek" - I'm more straightforward - but you are an absolute moron. You really need to get your facts straight before you go blabbing and posting pubic statements that are completely ridiculous. Stay in school - crack kills.

"Pubic statements"! Bwahahaha! You're right, crack kills and stay in school. Maybe you'll learn how to proofread, Jani.

It's time that people mature enough to move on with our lives! I'm not saying forget, but forgiveness supposedly is a part of most religions or what decent people do!

You haven't a clue about what was going on in that time period that brought about the attack and other things! Don't judge by a single extremely poorly made movie! Your thinking is so far off where it should be.

What do you think about Washington crossing the Delaware so that he could sneak attack the Hessians while they were celebrating a holiday?! George Washington is the "father of our country" and a hero, right?

What do you think of us dropping atomic bombs on TWO Japanese cities, killing civilians and our own people who were there, in hopes of bringing the war to an end sooner, which it did? What kind of price was that though? Do you want to praise this country for commiting such an atrocity? Oh yes, we dropped flyers beforehand, but they were written in English! Did you know that the government knew the bomb was ready to go when Pearl Harbor "just happened", forcing us to go to war? At least they had people's insistence that America enter the war then. Maybe you should read about General William Lendrum "Billy" Mitchell.

The United States has a history of acts we must be ashamed of, so do not point fingers at other countries. I think you need to do a lot more reading before you judge history after watching a Hollywood version of it.

This country was supposed to be an Isolationist nation, yet the United States sold scrap metal to Japan and built a fleet of battleships that they very publicly sent to Pearl Harbor. I used to do a "Looking Back" column, and I read all of the old newspapers. I was absolutely shocked by what I read! Our city was chosen for a makeover that very obviously was a preparation for war: converting factories, turning country roads into paved ones, building a government airport near our city, which is a crossroads, and even bivouacing troops around our city. Some of our local pilots were hired to teach Chinese soldiers how to fly planes for bombing attacks during the Sino-Japanese war. The States wanted to be Isolationist, but our pilots were teaching other pilots who were attacking another country. Perhaps you can see why that would seem two-faced to other countries, especially the one attacked. Does Pearl Harbor seem the same to you now? You cannot say you aren't involved while dabbling in international affairs; you cannot have it both ways.

I imagine that many countries have incidents in their histories that they are ashamed of or uncomfortable about. Read some history, and stop making judgments before you know the whole situation. I think you've made some rash statements. What a terrible accusation you make! You really should add an apology.

You asked for mature people, but you are not mature, not by any means. You sound like a child who has just heard a speck of a story but knows nothing about what went before and after. Yet, you spout this harsh response based on that tale that is only part of an epic. Something tells me you haven't been paying attention in history class.
