Are you sure. Saw 4 is a good ending to why the protoganist became insane.
Of one of the spoilers the main thing is the dectective in Saw 2 dies at the last bit of Saw 4. Someone else is continuing Jig Saws work even though he is dead as seen in Saw 3 and the person is a Captain of the police.

go see the movie for yourself. if you saw Saw 1-3 what is the problem seeing the part 4. go see it or wait when it comes on dvd.
