I was wondering what other people thought about The Golden Compass movie?!
Question: I thought it was well done and had an interesting storyline. I did not find it offensive about all the religion stuff, but some of my family found it highly offensive. Are there any religious people out there who weren't offended and enjoyed the movie.

I would say I'm pretty religious but I didn't find the movie at all offensive! The only critique I'd have is that the books are much better, it explains things things so they are easier to understand. It made me mad when they said it was anti-religious, mostly because the author was an atheist! My own pastor told our church not to see it which made me angry because i was a great book!!
I enjoyed the movie...it was eye candy after all.
I found the story line to be full of holes and while i could follow it...I was left with lots of questions.
I can see where if you know the Magisterium is the Church (I believe in the book it is Catholic in particular but, I am not sure about that) then yes I can see where the story line is offensive.
i haven't seen the movie and dont plan on it, I.m a christian so I think that its offensive, but thats my opinion
