the movie is about a pissed of monster that is ugly and has these parasite monsters that look like the little dudes from starship troopers, and destroys new york. there is a group of friends that are having a party, one of them has a camera, and he films the whole thing...
that's it. there is no side story, everything they have marketed has been a lie, and its still great.
I saw the movie last night in a screening in tampa, fl, and i was beyond impressed, since i had been following the hype since it began.
ps. the preview debuted in front of transformers last year, and blake lively is not in it, just some random chick that sort of looks like here.
the only recognizable name is a small cameo by chad faust, the guy that plays kyle in the 4400.
the movie is awesome and well worth the 4 1/2 hours i had to wait in line to get it, since it was first come, first serve basis

They've been keeping the plot a big secret but from what I have read and seen a monster attacks New York while a party is going on and you basically are watching these people try to get out alive. It looks pretty cool I know that it's supposed to be really good.
Yeah something about a monster. Interesting way to market the movie though... Haven't seen that done before. I also know that it co-stars a very beautiful Jessica Lucas who just happens to be from my hometown of Vancouver!

I know! They won't show the monster that takes the statue of liberty's head off. I have seen some buzz where people are comparing the moster to godzilla, but who knows? Looks pretty good anyway....
ok cloverfield is being directed by the director of lost.
this movie has got 2 be byfar the most secretive movie ever. the 1st preview was shown at the premiere of one missed call. wen siging on the actors had no idea wat the movie was about. 4 their auditions the actors read scripts from the show lost or some specific scripts written just for the audition. when the director was in japan with his son he saw so many godzilla things which madee he say that the usa need a monster like this n not king kong b/c hes too cutesy. so this movie is obviously about monster. the idea of the statue of liberties head on nyc's streets was from a movie called "escape from [i think manhattan or nyc]" the statue of liberties head was seen on the floor on the cover of the movie but never rly used in the movie which is why it is used in this one. the movie is about the onster attacking while a group of friends r throwingg their friend a going away party. the movie is shown in the view of one of the friends hand-held camera as to be like someone is documenting this whole event. they are trying to escape nyc.
