Would Superbad with Michael Cera be appropriate for a teenager?!

Question: Language and drug content aren't a problem, and i've seen just about every trailer on youtube. I've seen Across the Universe (drug content) and Juno (other content) and that seemed to be fine. Other than that, is Superbad much worse, or is it just a combination of all that which is why it's rated R? Also, besides the trailers, are there more funny parts (is it worth risking the content for the humor?)

I wouldn't worry, it is basically centred around a bunch of lads trying to get alcohol for a party by using fake id so that they can impress (and sleep with) some girls from school. I don't actually remember too much drug content, but a lot of swearing and obviously a lot of talk about underage drinking etc.
It is really funny and I defo recommend watching it.

yes

It's just really vulgar. I haven't seen Juno or Across the Universe. If you are not concerned about language, drug content, or other content, what are you concerned about? There's no violence if that's what you mean. Nobody gets killed. It's pretty funny and I definitely recommend it, if I had kids I'd probably let 14+ see it.

the language in superbad is pretty graphic. it is pretty true to the way teenage boys talk. but the sexual discriptions are very graphic. and any movie that involves menstral blood is gonna get an R. if i was a parent with a teenager under 16. if they wanted to watch it i would watch it with them. over 16 it would be ok

as for the movie it had a few truly funny moments but it was far behind 'the 40 year old virgin' (one of my recent favorites) and 'Knocked up" of the Aptow movies. if you have seen the trailers you have seen half of the funny moments. i like this style of humor it is in the kevin smith jay and silent bob genre but its not as good as clerks, chasing amy, or mallrats but it is better than jay and silent bob strike back and clerks 2.

Superbad = 3 stars out of 5 for me. its average. i am not sorry i watched it but if i had not seen it i would not have missed a lot

if theyve seen the 40 year old virgin or knocked up. or are in high school they should be fine.
im 12 and i saw superbad and yeah the language wasnt the greatest but its the same way the kids talk at school. so yeah and the movie is really a classic its hilarious too.

If language and drug content aren't a problem, then by all means let your teenager watch it. It's got a lot of low brow humor in it and if that's your bag enjoy. It's very unapologetic with it's humor and it pulls no punches which makes it very appealing to me, I thought it was hilarious.

Yea if you don't mind the language and the talk about sexual content..after all it is about teenagers and the things they say to one another. And it's ridiculously funny.

Sounds like it would be fine.

Check out the website Screenit.com. It will give you all the info on any movie you are concerned with your children watching. They monitor the language, sex, violence, everything. It has a pay section and a free section. The free section gives you everything as well.

very funny, but absolutely vulgar. I would not let my kid watch it till 17ish.
