Totally agree, I am Legend is an extremely good movie, so I can not believe why and how is underrated!? I mean it just makes no sense. How could Harry Potter rated higher than I am Legend. Never the less, I am Legend is one of the best movies I have ever seen :D

My step-brother got I am ledgend on his psp, idk how though lol

Read the book, kiddo. The movie blows.

i thought it was good, but not great.

I agree. My friends and I liked it. Many of the critics don't like the ending. I liked the ending. Found it optimistic, hopeful.

i havent read the book but i thought the film was really entertaining for what it was. better than alot of other horror type films anyways...

i know i went to see that movie 3t times...it was amazing. one of the best movies if ever seen.

i dont think so that is so f****** stupid dang man

If you read the book, you'll find the horrible changes they made dumb down and ruin every part that could've had so much meaning.

For example, the title refers to the last man's final realization that the night people, who had evolved thanks to his experimental drug, and had become more human and thoughtful, saw him now, as a reverse vampire, a monster who stalked and killed them by day in their sleep and worked on his medicines to turn them into something like him, a human. I am legend refers to his status as the last human in a world of vampires, like Dracula is a legend to us humans now. It's supposed to be irony and to make us think about what makes monsters, what makes evil.

Instead in this movie, he was legend because he worked really hard on a cure. Maybe a hero, but not a "legend". It's really forced and obtuse.

I agree it needed to be longer, it was so good in the beginning but after the two survivors save him the movie seems cramped into to short of a time slot.

My husband and I both saw 'I Am Legend' and we agree with you basically ... of the three movies all made from this one novella, it was far and away the best, but that MAY have been because Will Smith is such a great actor. In the part where his dog is sick after having been bit by the 'zombies' and he must kill it, he first says 'Sam ... Samantha' which shows us that the dog we all thought was a male was actually female ... then his face is all you can see, with a few 'flashbacks' as he strangles Sam to death ... the joy mixed with years of agony and loss, and the PAIN of having to kill a 'loved one' were all there on his face. That is GREAT acting.
The movie was also good, but for other than plot reasons. It was filmed IN New York City, with all of the people who live there around, yet we see none of them ... some things were done using CGI, and others were done just with 'strategic camera location.'
All in all, though, I didn't like the movie because I wanted it to be MORE like the original novella, with talking Vampires ... and in the end, the protagonist dies knowing that the Vampires are also 'changing' and the 'new race' would be a combination of both Vampire and Human. In the movie, there is a 'small area of humans' still alive, and I think that is a RIP OFF, as what the author of the novella was trying to say ... that humans MUST evolve to move onward (and upward and out of this solar system) ... was LOST. It was still one of the BEST movies I've seen made recently (and we are 'movie buffs' who see ALL the 'sf' movies made, and many 'thrillers') ... but there are still more and better movies to be made IF ONLY WRITERS can write good books, and movie goers see movies made of them.

I Am Legend is by far one of my favorite movies. It was underrated =(
