Question: Tell it all? Do you see the monster? What is? Spoil the heck out of for me, I am asking for it. I won't see it until the DVD release and I want to know the whole movie. Don't leave anything out.

Great website for movie spoilers, always the most descriptive and they get just about every movie, including some that haven't come out yet in wide release, like movies at Sundance
You do see the monster. It is a spider-like creature that has child sized spiders as like an army. All of the main characters die in it. Nobody knows where it came from. There will possibly be a sequel from the viewpoint of a different camcorder as this one is from the point of view of a camcorder.
the movie begins with a black screen and a descriptor that the "film" was found by the "government" in Central Park after the "incident". So that tells you right away, whoever happened to be recording the tape - DIES. If they had lived, then the gov' wouldn't have gotten thier hands on the tape.
If you think you're going to learn anything substantial from the film about the alien - think again. The film is about a couple of people that were originally at a "bon voyage" type party for this guy when the alien begins its attack on NY. So everything you see is from their prospective, and not from the ones who might actually know something about the alien. You do get to see what the alien looks like. At first you just see quick glimpses of it, then slowly you get to see more and more of it. You learn that it is able to spit out baby aliens that look more like huge spiderlike creatures (with the legs like those alien things that stick to your face in Alien and the chompers like those huge monsters that regenerate in Hellboy.) You do learn that if you get "bit" by one of these baby monsters, you begin to suffer from its side effects, dizziness, blood loss (you see one girl bleeding from her eyes), convulsions, and then self-exploding and obviously death (cause you just exploded, duh.)
You don't know or learn how the alien got to NY, when, or why. You don't know if it is susceptible to anything or if it has any weaknesses. But you do see tons of army guys shooting guns, missles, etc...all kinds of fire power at it, and it keeps going. You don't even know if it is finally killed, because the gov' "levels" NY in a final attempt to kill the alien. (That was their back up plan if they couldn't kill it by other means.) The "film" ends with the recently reunited couple crouched under a bridge in Central Park saying "goodbye" into the camera and then professing their love to one another seconds after the inital blast rock the city...and then the camera is buried under rubble where the gov' supposedly later finds it. But you don't ever see that. You just assume it since it said in the very beginning that the film was recovered in NY.
I guess you could assume that the alien is killed in the end if they were able to go back into NY and actually go digging around the complete destruction and found the camera.
