Cloverfield - A Puke Fest???!

Question: 1/2 out of 5 stars. What a waste of money and my time. Got 1/3rds of the crowd sick / vomit / dizzy during and after the show. What a ripoff. You're better off putting that money to good use (e.g. donations to the needy). Idiot director, ruined his own repo.

i agree with u. cloverfield is a total ripoff!!

wow was it really that bad? my frriend saw it and he said it was the best movie ever. idk if i want to see it maybe ill wait till it comes to dvd

i really didn't think it was all that bad. personally i wasn't phased by all the jerking and what not.
even though they were alot of unrealistic parts i overall like the move.
i thought that it helped me get into the characters and i noticed a sense of mystery during the whole movie.
mystery b/c you only see things in one groups perspective so there never is any dramatic irony. also your curious about the monster and where it came from. liked it.

I can understand how many people got sick- the camera angles/movements were a bit dizzying. I never felt ill, but I can see how some might. Overall, though, I enjoyed it. You just have to see it for what it is- a big budget B movie. Was it clever? No. Was it original? No. But it was fun, and I felt I got my $10 worth.

whatever! i give it 4 1/2 out of 5

So your question is "Am I really one of the 1/3 of people suseptible to movie-motion sickness?"
And I would gather that the answer is undoubtedly- yes.

I'm assuming, also, that you're a self-proclaimed "film snob" and movies that don't make you happy are a waste of money.
I'm glad that your heart is asking that they gave the production costs to the needy....but honestly, you're the 1/3 that didn't like the movie and the other 2/3 did.
I really hope you didn't puke in the theater, because then those poor kids who get paid only about $5 an hour were using their time cleaning that up rather than going out and helping the needy who didn't watch Cloverfield.

Good luck...and don't turn your head too fast, you might pass out this time.

I don't know where you're from, but no one got sick at the theater I was watching it in and it was a full house. My money *was* put to good use -- the movie was great. The director didn't ruin his own rep, since Cloverfield scored pretty damn high all over the place.

The camera shaking got bad only when they were running, it was shot just fine the rest of the time and was NOT as bad as other movies who use the same technique.

I rather get a little dizzy and see a movie where the characters seem real, rather than not get dizzy and see a movie about character's that I don't give two shits about.

i agree with you and that was a rip off

Guess what, Dramamine works. Use it next time you think you're going to see a film that'll get you sick. I thought about it but didn't use any. Although I had to look away a couple of times to keep from getting a little queasy, I was okay.

Also, the movie is just fine. You're probably one of the fanboys that sat behind me and tried to be funny by quoting Ebert. Sheesh, man, get a life.

It wasnt bad!!! Dude it was fricking awsome....i mena sure it was a little shaky but u get used to it....nobody in my thearter go sick.....the directer is brilliant...JJ Abrams great director
