When watching the harry potter movies, is it just me?!

Question: or does the wizarding-world seem like it is set in the 1940's; like everytime he gets to ron's house, he steps back in time?

and i don't just mean the setting, but the clothing as well; like how everytime harry escaped from his uncle's in his 'modern- teen' apparel, and then runs into sirius who looks like he just stepped off of the titanic?

Yes it does. You think with magic they could invent electricty or something.

yup lol they like old fashion lol but wishing i have magic like them

It is a thing, that applies to the conservativism.
By the way it is not chinese movie for nihongos.

technically it's set in the late 80's early 90s...but I know what you mean. besides, I don't think they care much about apparel. They don't even care about major plot holes they put in, they are not going to care about the clothes.

It's supposed to be like that, it creates an atmosphere that's just right. Sometimes I think they get their clothes from a second-hand store, but there's nothing wrong with that.

Why would anybody want to see Sirius dressed in new expensive clothes? I believe it's completely against his nature. He cares about other things – his friends, his past, wars, revenge, and adventure... There's just no time for shopping in malls or going to a hairdresser...

yeah. that has def always bugged me, but i'm guessing it's to emphasize the difference between the two worlds...muggle vs. wizarding.

Yes it does i've only just relised now you've said it, creepy huh.

HAHA. Wow. I love it. "Just stepped off the Titanic.". But yes I do agree with you that its a little odd. When we see Harry in the beginning of Order of the Phoenix, he is wearing regular jeans, a tee, and Converses I do believe. But then we see Mad Eye, Sirius, Tonk, etc. and they are all dress old-timey. As an avid reader of the books and a somewhat Harry Potter nerd, I would have to say that it really all adds to the atmosphere and mystery. We don't WANT to see the wizards and witches looking like they just stepped out from Rodeo Drive. We want them in long robes and pointy hats like we think they should be! Come one... Dumbledore wouldn't be near as believable as a powerful wizard if he was wearing a liesure suit. When we see wand waving, we picture robes, beards, pointy hats. Thats just how it is! I think it is a good separation of the Muggles from the Wizarding world. In the books they always make fun of wizards who try to dress like Muggles and fail miserably. Just adds a degree of separation I think!
