I was named for the Elizabeth Taylor movie "Cynthia" (1947), in which she received her first screen kiss from Jimmy Lydon. Elizabeth was 15, so the studio graduated her to a very sweet teenage film.
Oddly, she portrays a girl who is nearly an invalid, becoming ill often and quickly. That's what my life has been like, too. Like the screen Cynthia, I've been ill throughout my life and am now on Disability. My mom had not seen this film since she and my dad were dating and decided that, when they were married and had a daughter (which would be four years later), that would be her name~at a time when this was an unusual name.
It's equally odd because Elizabeth Taylor has had lifelong health problems, too.
