· Do you think young children should be allowed to watch horror movies?!

Question: I wouldnt let a very young child watch them but say 7/8yrs old will probly be ok.Sum kids love them ,others r scared so make sure the 1st time theyre allowed 2 watch 1 its not going 2 be bedtime 4 a while then if they r scared it wont b in the front of there mind when they go 2 bed & theyre less likely 2 hav nightmares. It wil giv u a chance 2 judge there reaction.Even if they love watching them a lot of children wil hav dreams related 2 wots on there mind so not letting them watch them just b4 bed wil make them less likely 2 hav bad dreams.

no i dont, age restrictions are there for a reason if its not suitable for their age they shouldnt be allowed to view it.

That depends on the child. I have one that loved horror films and had no problems with them and still likes to watch them, and another that never has liked them - had nightmares and such. Much depends on the child and how they handle their imaginations. Try one, then play it by ear depending on the reaction.

No, there is no need to expose them to it.

No, im 14 and still get scared by things i saw when i was little. IM SCARRED!!!!

uh no.

Yes, if you want to scare the crap out of them!

My wife started watching horror movies when she was 5. She turned out fine. She was intelligent enough to separate fiction from reality. She still loves them.

Well, I started watching horror movies when I was like five, six, seven......and look at me!! Do I look like a sadistic killer or anything? NOOOOOoo.....those kids will probably hear from their friends or find out about it sooner or later....it IS the 21st century, you know.
-Ciao

yeah and don't forget the cans and leave a sharp knife around...............not.

i don't think that you should but i took my brother to see
1 missed call(which isn't really that scary but for a kid yeah)
and he was fine.

No absolutely not, they have not been able to learn how to reason things, and what sort of perspective would they have on something. I dont think I would have enjoyed watching a horror film when I was little, and am glad I was not allowed to, keep them free from fear for at least a little while during their lives, I say. They have plenty of time in their lives to find horror.

i have no problem with it. i watched a lot when i was still little and its not like something trumatic happened. there just there for entertaiment.althoug there r a few that should only be watched when there a little mature

No! Although Willy Wonka and The Wizard of Oz gave me nightmares as a kid.And Johnny Depp brought back Post Traumatic Stress symptoms when I saw the re-make.
Why the hell would you want kids viewing violence. I know my son used to copy WWF wrestling moves after he watched it. I had to stop him viewing it eventually as he did not have the capacity to understand that it was staged. and he was doing some pretty dangerous stuff.

It depends. I think 8, 9, or 10 is fine to watch horror films. Just make they watch it on the weekend and during the day. Or if they watch it at night, put a funny movie on afterwords so that they're not too scared to go to bed.

Uhm, well depends your view on young?
I've been watching since I was 11, I'm perfectly normal.
As for children 10-, then i think that'll be asking for too much. Maybe even 11 or under, or 12. (i'm 13) because i still have nightmares of the TEXAS CHAINSAW MASSACRE which i've seen when i was 12.
So, if you haven't hit your double digits, i suggest not.
I'm 13, and i've grown enough to handle them. We are smarter than we look lol.

I've loved horror movies (particularly vampire ones) since I was about 6...Fascinated I was. My parents didn't mind, so long as I watched them with them, and as I got older my tastes got too scary fro my parents. That said my little sister is sixteen and she still can't watch anything remotely scary, she's so easy to terrify! So I think it depends on the child and on the movie...what scares one person won't scare another. Age ratings are quite often wrongly given in my opinion e.g. I saw Sweeny Todd the other day and it's rated 18!!!Er...why??? Not even any slightly scary bits!

Why do you want to put children in a horror movie...are you sick?

NO NO NO what a ridiculous question, what's the matter with you????????
