First of all, you have to remember that it is a movie, and just like any movie based in history and true events, there will be details that were made up or altered in some way for the sake of the movie. So no, it's not 100% accurate.

However, as for the actual events that played out during the incident, it does stay pretty accurate to how the actual sinking of the Titanic was documented by survivors and witnesses. The Rose and Jack story, I'm not sure about; Hollywood may have added them to make the story more appealing to audiences. True or not, though, it does make the movie more interesting.

i dont know i wasnt there but it proably was pretty close. i remember going to the titanic musesum in philadelphia a few years back and they had like an iceberg that you could touch and feel that was the same temperature as it was back when it sank and by god it was freezing. it was difficult to grab and hold for more than 3 seconds

movie = emo
real life = tragedy of epic proportions

Yes, the people freezing really happened, but Jack and Rose is a fanciful tale

you can't compare it unless you were their

The actual story line was fiction...however the people freezing in the water and how tragic the trip ended was based on actual events

in the movie you got to see the naked kate winslet...i bet there wasnt any in the real life.lol
