Yeah that was so cool. He was cloning himself and then killing himself every show. Great movie idea I have to say.

the machine cloned him and he had to kill himself everytime

no, I don't think it was a clone...I thought it was his twin!

yes he clones himself. after that he drowns them after every show.

Yes he did clone himself by means of the machine.
A hint was made in the scene with the cat and the black hats. They were duplicated.

By Angier cloning himself he was able to fool audiences into believing in his trick "The Transported Man".
Whilst his clone was on stage he would be anywhere else in the theater. On cue the clone would go through a trap door under the stage and the real Angier would appear to have been transported by the machine.

As I'm sure you know that's why he placed the tank under the trap door because every time he used the machine it created a clone. He needed to remove the evidence of there being doubles in his effort to compete with Alfred Borden.

If you liked that and haven't already seen it, The Illusionist is a good movie too. But the Prestige is my favourite.

yes it made an exact copy of him. and through discovering that it did he killed his clone everytime. it basically worked the same as the hats did, but he was a person...so christian bale was kinda the protagonist in that movie....

Yep, it cloned him. Much like sending a fax, copied, doubled. Loved that movie twist.

That's it exactly. However, I recommend you read the novel it's based on. It's The Prestige by Christopher Priest, and it goes into a lot more detail about what was going on. There were also some important plots in the book that were left out of the movie. The twist at the end of the book won't be surprising since you know about the clones, but it's still a good read.
