Didn't it come out around the same time as "Showgirls?" Maybe the producers thought they could beat out that movie because they had Demi. I read somewhere that they let her pick all the songs she danced to. Maybe it was because they let her be creative with the character. I wasn't a big fan of either films. =(
Poor judgment. I think she liked the moral to the story.

Right after that she made the other bigger disaster G.I Jane and then she disappeared for a few years.
