Star Wars Vintage Figures?!

Question: So let me get this straight, in the 1980's figures came out that featured every character ever created in the Star Wars universe?

I've been a hardcore Star Wars fan ever since I saw the movies when i was like five and I've been wanting to collect Star wars figures, but I wanna collect the real deal. So the "Vintage Mint condition Star Wars figure!!!" banners I see on Ebay mean that these are the original figures created after the movie that were the first Star Wars merchandise ever?

I know I just asked the same question 6 times and sorry; just want to make sure I get the whole "original figure collector" thing.

Not "every character"... From the period 1978 to 1985, 92 different characters were immortalized in 3.75" plastic. The term "vintage" is used to refer to Star Wars toys of this period. You should not trust the "banners" on eBay, you should rely on photographs and seller's feedback / reputation.
If you are just starting out, you should really talk to collectors and ideally buy some toys in person. Ebay can be rough if you don't know what you're getting into.
Also, I hope you realize that vintage Star Wars is a VERY expensive hobby. I only recommend it for people who do not intend to get married and have children, because it is almost impossible to support both.

I would guess that is correct but you can always contact the seller to confirm that they are the origionals. Also they will be nore valuable if the yare in their origional packaging.

The figures actually came out in 1977 after the movie was such a success - George Lucas made more money on the merchandising of Star Wars then he was paid for making the movie.
