Young Sarah (Jennifer Connelly) is left home alone by her parents and she has to babysit her little brother Toby. But the baby keeps crying and Sarah, while telling him a story to make him sleep, inadvertently conjures from a fantasy world the Goblin King (David Bowie) who steals the child and brings him to his castle in the middle of a labyrinth. Sarah has to rescue him before midnight, or the baby will became a goblin.

I have watched this film so many times and also have made wallpapers and signature/banners with images and quotations. It's a wonderful fantasy film with quite a following. I have it on a videotape with "Legend" and "Ladyhawke", which makes a great mini-marathon. Occasionally, I add "Krull" and "Dark Crystal".

Sounds like Labyrinth
Labrynth, starring Jennifer Connelly and David Bowie. Jennifer was supposed to watch her baby brother and then recited(?) to the goblin king (played by david bowie) to "take her brother far far away". The goblins do so and then she realizes that this was not such a good idea after all. She then goes on an incredible journey to find her brother.
