An old black and white Japanese superhero???!

Question: ...when I was younger, I remember seeing a couple of afternoon sci-fi creature feature films, which showed a very bouncy, athletic and agile superhero, who came from space, and protected the Earth from a whole bunch of weird space creatures. It looked like the films were produced in Japan, and they were in black and white. I think that the character was called Starman, but when I try to look up 'Starman' on the internet, I keep coming up with the John Carpenter movie, and the T.V. series...

...anyone ever here of this???

...yes, the guy, which you are talking about, IS called "Starman", and he was played by actor Ken Utsui; there were four feature films, edited from an old 1965 Japanese T.V. series, and imported & released in the U.S., as theatrical feature film; they are as follows:

"Attack from Space"
"Evil Brain from Outer Space"
"Invaders from Space"
"Atomic Rulers"

...Alpha Video presently has the rights, for distribution of three of these films (...www.oldies.com), but previously, a company called Something Weird Video, released two special edition double-feature DVDs, which contained all four films...

...if you're looking at getting these films, go for the 'Something Weird' editions; they are the better quality, and each disc has tons of very interesting extras...

Ultra Man

if he always has annoying kids following him and he wears like a green hornet type mask its "THE PRINCE OF SPACE" MST3K makes fun of his movies all the time....he had a villain that laughed like a penguin.
