The movie is still coming out, scheduled for a July 18, 2008 release in the U.S. Although it won't delay or cancel the movie, Ledger's death may affect how the film is marketed. If you look at the first trailers and the original posters they feature the character of the Joker and the "Why so serious?" tag line very prominently. The studio may shift the marketing campaign from now until its release to focus more on Batman/Bruce Wayne himself.
Many films have had an actor die after or even during production, and almost none are simply not released: Oliver Reed died during the filming of Gladiator, and the rest of his scenes used doubles and digitally lifted versions of himself from earlier scenes with a new voice actor. Similarly, Brandon Lee died during filming of The Crow and was replaced for the rest of the film. Many actors have stated that should they die during or after filming, they'd want the film to go on, their work to be seen.
Warner Brothers has invested $150 Million into this movie, so it would be a financial disaster to simply scrap it at this point. It will probably be dedicated to him.
However, another film Ledger was in the middle of filming, The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus, may not be able to be completed. It's still in limbo, because unlike Dark Knight, Ledger was not finished filming, and it is yet to be seen whether he is replaced, or if the film will simply be terminated.

Ledger was completed with his part of the filming so it will still be released. Very sad however, much too young.

Heath's death has absolutely NO bearing whatsoever on whether or not a COMPLETED film will be released. That's up to the studios, who I might add, invested A LOT of money and would like to see a return on their investment.

it was done when heath died. he was actually working on another movie already.
they spent millions upon millions of dollars making that movie, they are not going to take that loss.
