Is Dodgeball: A True Underdog Story a true story, for real?!

Question: I have looked everywhere and do not know!!

Answers: I have looked everywhere and do not know!!

Of course it's not, Ben Stiller stole the plot from another movie that was not true (that he was in 10 years prior): Happy Gilmore.

Guy who's rough around the edges takes up a quirky sport for a heart-warming cause. Said guy finds an ex-professional in the sport to coach him and highly attractive legal advisor who at first finds him repulsive, but eventually gives in to his charm. Previously mentioned coach dies before the big match and when said guy finds himself facing insurmountable odds, he conjures the spirit of dead coach to remember the invaluable advice given before dying in ridiculous accident. Said guy defeats overly villainized rival and saves the house/gym and wins the girl.

No, it is not.

No, the name is a joke because of all the "True Stories" that come out.... Its almost like that new one that came out a few weeks ago, "Walk Hard"

Uh... no. Have you actually seen the movie? Unless they REALLY exaggerated it, I'm pretty sure it's not based on a true story.

It's about dodgeball, for pete's sake!
