Name of a movie, can't remember it.?!
Question: I'm searching for a name of a comedy mystery film that I think dates back to the late 70's or early 80's. It's like a spin off of Sherlock Homes. One scene I can remember in it, is where one of the goofy detectives goes to drink a cup of tea. He stops and says, "Wait a min, tea isn't supposed to bubble."
I remember it reminded me kinda like the movie Clue, and at the end all those who died come back, it was just a hoax. That's all I can remember. Hope someone can help.

Sounds like it could be the movie "The Private Eyes"(1981) starring Don Knotts and Tim Conway. I watched it a long time ago when I was still in High School, ahhhhhhh, those were the days. Check out the following link.

Was is "Murder by Death"(1976)? It is a spoof of mystery movies and is hilarious.

Ghostbusters? Maybe. Or Ghostbusters 2? I am not sure.
yer ghostbusters!
Sounds like "Murder By Death" from the mid 1970s. Had a lot of big names in it, including Truman Capote, Eileen Brennan, Peter Falk, Peter Sellers, David Niven, and Maggie Smith.
Very well-done mystery/comedy in which a mysterious man invites a group of great detectives to his home for, I believe, "dinner and a murder."
