If a documentary were made about one man's journey from couch potato to mara!

Question: I don't think you can determine whether a movie, documentary or not, will be popular based solely on subject matter. I loved the movie "Word Play" about a bunch of left-brain word-fetishists doing crossword puzzles. If someone had asked me a year earlier if I would watch a documentary about that, I would have said "Hell no."

It can't just be about the transition itself. It needs to be about the person, and it needs to give me a reason to care. If this hypothetical potato-to-super-athlete movie says something about the human spirit, if the potato in question is likable, if I want him/her to succeed, then it might be good.

it depends

Maybe.

if it was a comedy.

Probably not - it just isn't that interesting of a story

Yes, I probably would.

No dont watch marathons and dont watch much tv anyway.

Uh, no. That sounds about as fun and interesting as Algebra 2. Like a million people do that every year.

"Run Fatboy Run"

i cant wait to see that movie, it looks so funny

ok, its not a documentary but its the same idea with Simon Pegg (Shawn of the Dead, Hot Fuzz)

maybe if it was titled "The Fastest Loser"

If it was exciting, and he had the true passion to do it and if movie also showed his struggles with why it was hard to change his life

yeah i might but i think it needs something else to make it more interesting.

LOL! Run Fatboy Run! Brilliant! I would so pay $20 (popcorn and soda included, maybe some milk duds) to see that...

I'd watch it. It's like the opposite of Supersize Me!

It would have to be humorous and have some drama with the weight loss, training, and reasons as to why.
